Dr. Douglas Boardman III specializes in elbow and shoulder reconstruction (including total joint replacement, trauma and post-trauma reconstruction, arthritis, arthroscopy, tendon injuries and sports injuries) and arthroscopic knee surgery.
Dr. Boardman is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, Virginia Orthopaedic Society, Medical Society of Virginia, Richmond Academy of Medicine, Mayo Elbow Club, Richmond Orthopaedic Club, Southern Orthopaedic Association, and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He also is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Boardman recently was elected to the Shoulder/Elbow Program Subcommittee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He serves on the board of directors of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society and is a board representative to the Medical Society of Virginia. In 2004, Boardman was featured in the AcademicKeys Who’s Who in Medical Sciences Education. That same year, he was highlighted by Virginia Health Institute/Virginia Business magazine as one of “Virginia’s Top Doctors.”
His research focuses on elbow and shoulder trauma and reconstruction.
